Come along with me as I walk my dear Irish terrier mutt, Olivia Bouchet, through the streets of Bernal Heights — the San Francisco neighborhood where I've lived for the last 17 years.

For a long while I was obsessed with the colorful walls and quirky stairways of our wonderful little "village" within the city. Now I'm having a love affair with fallen leaves - scattered, piled, drifting, tumbling and fluttering on and over the sidewalks and streets, and even in the gutters. Although decaying and dying, they grace the city streets with beauty.

I am captivated by other urban things, too. Fences, rooftops, shadows. Brick and cement. Pavement and wood. Sometimes my approach is traditional/realistic, but many of my images are abstract, minimalist, and/or macros.

Everything — whether it be a leaf, a window, or a piece of painter's scaffold netting blowing in the wind — has its own idiosyncratic personality. I like looking for the soul in the things. Visual poetry.
